As services and events increasingly move to virtual formats, healing is one of the significant needs of many people. There are a number of excellent resources on the web where people can obtain help in healing of illness, injuries or obtain healing support for difficult situations. There are also ways for people to do healing online, with many different methods.
Some participants in healing have religious background; some of have scientific background. Some involve prayers. From the perspective and experience of Rod Turner, the serial entrepreneur in San Diego, CA who is behind the Facebook group Open healing, “I don't think it matters so much how we describe or label the process, but it works.”
“I wouldn't have guessed, some years ago, that I’d be participating in something like this, or that it would be working,” he adds.
For those who are interested, Rod will lead a guided meditation sessions weekly, every Weds at 5 pm Pacific time via Zoom.
Join us every Wednesday at 5pm. Pacific, 8pm New York time to learn to be a healer or to receive a healing. Please login 25 minutes early by clicking on this link.
The collective energy and guided meditation can work very well, he observes, when groups of people simultaneously come together with the intention to heal others.
“Great things can happen,” Rod says. “How much of that healing energy is coming from the people doing the healing and how much is coming from the universe or from God or from some other positive force, who knows? I don't think that matters so much as the fact that somehow or another, there's a wonderful alignment. Whether we call it love, or the healing energy, or coherent healing energy -- the energy from the universe or from whatever source and from the people who are intending the healing is transmitted to the people that are being healed.”
Through the joint process that can occur online, healers and people being healed can join from anywhere in the world. The location really isn't important.
How to be receptive
The easiest way to make yourself receptive to being healed is to think of something wonderful, some wonderful experience in your life that will put you in a receptive state that puts you in a good state of mind and dwell on that. Keep that in your mind the whole time. Don't worry about the process and absolutely don't over-analyze it and don't try to do anything. Don't try too hard, just be relaxed. And, if possible, think about something great that happened in your life. Maybe if the birth of your first child, that kind of thing.
If you find it difficult to buy into these thoughts, you are probably not the right person to participate as a healer or as someone receiving healing.
The primary reason for Open Healing is that Rod wants to make the wonderful system and method of guided meditation available to more healers and to more people who need to be healed by making it free of charge. His intention is to become increasingly better at providing training knowledge and context as needed. But at the end of the day, the Open Healing process is simple. Those who care enough to want to be healers get together, and we meditate we focus our healing intent onto people who need to be healed. People who need healing make themselves receptive to the support.

First step, one step at a time
If you want to be a healer in open healing, my suggestion to you is to join us for our events and be a healer and allow the process to occur.
You may not have enough experience with meditation, but that'll become easier with time.
You may not have experienced doing healings, but that will become easier with time also.
The idea of this is that by simply setting your intent to help the people that are being healed, and by caring enough to be there and participate that you will be adding to the critical mass of healing intent from the group. With practice, it gets easier and easier and easier, and you'll get stronger and stronger in your ability to reach a deeper meditative state and stronger healing effect.
